History

When a group of members from Shiloh Church had a vision to share love to the community, they started The Love Project, giving Christmas presents to families in need in the community.

The Love Project then expanded to distributing food from 412 Food Rescue during the pandemic, starting a community garden, and began providing household and hygiene supplies. Programs developed including He Is Risen Easter Egg Hunts; CommUNITY Day; Coats, Gloves and Love; CommUNITY Christmas Blessings; and Loads of Love Laundry Events.

For over 50 years, we have operated a food pantry and clothing bank along with assistance for families with utility shut off notices, evictions, and helping with furniture and appliances.

In 2020, the Elders Board at Shiloh Church agreed to separate the community outreach from the church. Life Builders (LB), formally established in 2021, is a faith-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization that serves individuals, families, and the community to create a sustainable transformation. To fulfill our vision, we realize we must build partnerships with other people, businesses, organizations, and churches.
